THOMAS SIPALO SWORN IN AS MEMBER OF LUSAKA CITY COUNCIL
Munali Constituency Member of Parliament Thomas Sipalo has been sworn in as a member of the Lusaka City Council.
Sipalo, who had already taken his oath of office as a Member of Parliament at the National Assembly, was this morning sworn in to participate as a member of the local authority during council proceedings at the Civic Centre in Lusaka.
The development follows the legal provisions that provide for Members of Parliament to participate in council meetings within their respective constituencies.
The ceremony also saw other relevant local government stakeholders formally take their oaths as members of the council meeting.
Sipalo will now be expected to participate in council proceedings and contribute to discussions on development issues affecting Munali Constituency and Lusaka.
