SIPALO WINS MUNALI ,SAKALA WINS MATERO
UPND’s THOMAS SIPALO has been elected Munali Constituency Member of Parliament after getting 27,242 votes.
Electoral Commission of Zambia Munali Constituency Returning Officer Christine Syatalimi declared Mr. Sipalo as the duly elected Munali MP
Mr Sipalo defeated closest rival, Resolute Party Candidate Chrispin Chiinda who got 20,988 votes.
Sembe Chimbalanga an Independent came third with 8,408 votes and Obbie Chomba also an independent candidate, got 3,586 votes.
Speaking after being declared the Munali MP elect, Mr. Sipalo pledged to bring development in Munali Constituency.
He further called on all the losing candidates to come on board and work with him to share the development agendas they had for Munali.
Meanwhile, UPND’S Alexander Sakala has scooped the Matero Parliamentary seat after polling 24,129 votes, beating Republican Party-RP Candidate Patrick Salubusa who got 18,614 votes.
Other candidates that contested the seat are Socialist Party’s George Munalula who got 882 votes, while Independent Candidate Annie Chinyanta got 1,760 votes.
