Three tankers carrying seized Iranian oil cross Atlantic toward US
Three Iran-linked tankers seized by the United States and carrying nearly six million barrels of Iranian crude were in the Atlantic on Thursday, AFP reported, citing vessel-tracking data.
TankerTrackers said the cargo, valued at nearly $600 million, was heading toward the United States.
Two of the vessels, the Majestic X and Tifani, were off Brazil’s northern coast, according to Kpler data. Both were seized by the US in April after loading oil in Iran.
The US Department of War said at the time that the seizures were aimed at disrupting sanctioned vessels providing material support to Iran.
