TO THOSE QUESTIONING WHY KATELE KALUMBA WAS PICKED UP BY THE ZAMBIA ARMY – WATCH AND LISTEN.
Let me state it without apology: Those threatening the Head of State, the Army Commander and the Zambia Army are not politicians – they are terrorists and must be treated as such.

You cannot go live on Facebook or any other social platform, openly threaten to shoot the President of the Republic of Zambia, threaten the Army Commander and threaten the men and women who defend our sovereignty, and expect to be handled like a little baby. That is not politics. That is a direct attack on the State.

For far too long, some individuals have tested President Hakainde Hichilema’s patience. His tolerance, his deep respect for democracy and human rights has been mistaken for weakness. Let me make it clear today: That time is over.

Anyone who makes threats against the life of the President must be brought to book and the law must take its full and firm course. No one, I repeat, no one is above the law. The Presidency is not just an individual – it is an institution that carries the hopes and security of over 20 million Zambians.

Let us be very clear as a nation:
Politicians offer ideas. Politicians offer alternative policies. Politicians provide checks and balances.
Criminals threaten lives. Terrorists threaten to kill a sitting President. Terrorists threaten our uniformed forces.

We will not allow Zambia to be turned into a lawless jungle where criminals hide behind the word “opposition” to commit treasonable acts.
To the international community: Get the context right. We are not dealing with politicians here. We are dealing with criminals who have declared war on the peace and stability of Zambia.

And to my fellow Zambians, especially the youth: When it comes to National Security, when it comes to the security of the Head of State and the security of every Zambian family we must be united and not play politics.

  1. Those words uttered by Dr. Katele Kalumba in the above vodeo, in some African countries he would be no more. Disrespecting a head of state in that way not only undermines him as an individual, but the nation that gave him the mandate to serve them and the democracy at large. That’s not freedom of speech. That is pure thuggery. Those who find those utterances and insults normal are complicity to the crime as well.

  2. There is the video evidence Ladies and Gentlemen! Even if Katele Kalumba had thought that HH was going to lose the elections, why would he want him to be shot dead and killed? HH is the President who pardoned him from prison sentence imposed not even under HH regime. Let the due process take its course and send Katele back to prison.

  3. I hope last time when he was released it was not an absolute pardon which wiped this criminal offence. He needs to be charged and once convicted he should be sentenced as a second offender. And I home the first criminal offence and sentence can be resurrected. Let him go and enjoy. Enough is enough.

  4. The clan….seems to be threaten by this man. What does the clan have to do with HH and the Presidency?
I wonder if the said fatally ill man was actually intoxicated? The slur in his voice. Would that absorb him of the crime?
To his wife who is also an outspoken critic. Whether drunk or not, what we see here is a deep sense of hatered. Based on what? The criminal allegations about the man are factual. No malice. No hate. But a snap shot of the tainted character in the man. What a vile character who has no sense of who he is. A criminal convict. Pardon takes away the sentence in the crime. But the actual ruling that one has comitted a crime stays. That is a fact. I hope that he faces the legal consequences of his actions. The Royal establishment needs to remove such a person from even claiming leanage to the family. He is but a blight to their names and leanage.

  5. Katele Kalumba is not alone.Mundubile,Makebi,Xavier and Findlay are just the tip of much larger iceberg of insurgents who still free out there.
State security agencies must keep Mundubile longer and squeeze Katele’s balls. There is a largesse of illegal arms somewhere in Luapula
We say”chimbwii pakulila, ninshi kuli apo ashintilile”
