Tom Fitton: Ilhan Omar Home Raid Required a Mountain of Evidence – Indictments Coming Soon

Judicial Watch President Tom Fitton says federal agents would never have gotten a search warrant for Congresswoman Ilhan Omar’s Washington home without overwhelming proof of criminal activity. Speaking on Benny Johnson’s show, Fitton made clear that no magistrate in a one-party city would greenlight a raid on a sitting Democrat based on a fishing expedition.

“My impression is they would not have gotten the approval by the court to raid her home, essentially, unless there’s a mountain of evidence suggesting criminal activity,” Fitton said. “No magistrate in this one-party city was going to allow a raid on Democrat Ilhan Omar’s home because they were pursuing a fishing expedition. So there’s evidence that was presented to the court to suggest criminal activity had taken place.”

The discussion also covered long-standing questions about Omar’s immigration records. USCIS reportedly has no record of her father’s naturalization, a gap Fitton described as strange given the documents that have already been released. Host Benny Johnson noted that a “no records” response can sometimes mean the wrong question was asked or the wrong agency was checked, but both agreed the truth would surface soon.

Fitton explained that in cases like this, investigators usually build the case against associates first and move on the main target later. “Based on what my understanding is about the way these cases go, the target’s usually the last person you start taking stuff from,” he said. “And so we could expect if there are going to be indictments, they should be coming soon.”

He left open the possibility of a civil denaturalization action rather than, or in addition to, criminal charges. Either way, he argued, the same standard should apply to others with questionable naturalization records. Fitton specifically called for scrutiny of New York mayoral candidate Zohran Mamdani, saying evidence suggests Mamdani was not forthright about his support for extremist movements on his naturalization paperwork.

“The same sort of scrutiny should be—and let me make this clear—I think Mamdani should face similar scrutiny,” Fitton said. “Because I think he, the evidence suggests he was not forthright in his naturalization applications about his support for extremist movements.”

When Johnson suggested that pursuing such cases could raise President Trump’s approval numbers, Fitton responded that politics was secondary. “The politics is one thing, but it’s the right thing to do,” he said. “We’re not asking people be targeted because they’re communists. We’re asking that they be investigated because there’s strong evidence of crimes and no one wants to even ask questions about it.”-DTP
