TONSE ALLIANCE DOES NOT HAVE WHAT IT TAKES TO WIN THIS ELECTION
I have spent today watching 3 rallies addressed by President Hakainde Hichilema. How many has Brian Mundubile addressed?
The difference on the ground is clear. President Hichilema is working, and he is working hard. Since I arrived, I have followed his campaign and he is miles ahead of Brian Mundubile and the Tonse Alliance.
Let’s look at the facts:
1. No resources, no reach
Mr. Mundubile claimed they were denied permission to use helicopters. That is not true. The reality is simple: they do not have the money to hire them. If they did, they would have shown us proof by now.
2. No materials, no presence
They also claimed ZRA had detained their party regalia. ZRA came out and clarified: no Tonse regalia was ever held.
I have driven around Lusaka and I have not seen any serious Tonse billboards. Meanwhile, President Hichilema’s billboards are up across the city and the country.
3. No structure, no candidates
You cannot win an election without candidates. Tonse has not adopted MPs, councillors, chairpersons and mayors in many constituencies and cities. How do you expect to win when you do not even have people on the ballot?
4. No campaign momentum
Compare the campaigns. President Hichilema is holding rally after rally, taking his message to the people in every corner. Tonse is barely visible. A message you do not deliver cannot win votes.
When people talk about “the Alliance winning,” they need to look at capacity. Right now Tonse is lacking on every front: money, logistics, materials, candidates, and ground campaign.
With this kind of preparation, it is clear President Hichilema is headed for a decisive victory. I expect him to cross 5 million votes.

As long as we have mostly illiterate voters, our destiny as a country will be determined by illiterates, yes, the ECZ raised the bar a bit on those seeking electoral office to Grade Twelve but without also raising the bar on voters we as a country are back to ZERO regarding electoral improvements.
Clearly the illiterate voters we have don’t know what they want, instead of asking a candidate what that candidate will do for them in terms of development, all they ask for is how much are you giving me.
I implore the next set of legislatures to ensure they pass a law to eliminate illiterate voters from voting so that the country can begin to see meaningful development through selection of the right candidates vetted by the right voters and not these mostly illiterate useless voters that we have now. To them campaign time is Christmas instead of a chance to have the right legislatures. That is why we end up with mostly useless politicians as well because all they do is pay their way through
