TONSE PAMODZI ALLIANCE EASTERN PROVINCE WELCOMES ZIMBA SUSPENSION
The Tonse Pamodzi Alliance leadership and members in Eastern Province have welcomed the decision by Alliance President Brian Mundubile to suspend Chris Zumani Zimba as Secretary General with immediate effect.
Provincial Chairman Maxson Nkhoma says the province strongly supports the decision, citing what he describes as controversial statements issued by Mr. Zimba.
Mr. Nkhoma says the provincial leadership was particularly concerned that Zimba issued statements on national matters without clearance from President Mundubile, his running mate Makebi Zulu, or the Alliance Central Committee.
He has urged national leaders to follow established party procedures before issuing statements on serious matters of national interest.
Mr. Nkhoma has also called on Alliance members in Eastern Province to remain calm and steadfast as they continue praying for the release of their arrested national leaders.
He has further directed members in the province not to issue statements on national matters without obtaining clearance from the party leadership.
Mr. Nkhoma says the Eastern Province leadership remains firmly behind Brian Mundubile, Makebi Zulu and all Alliance members currently in detention.
