By Sean Tembo – PeP President

1. Torture and mock execution by Zambia Army soldiers on teenagers suspected of defaming President Hakainde Hichilema;

2. Seizure of property and laying of criminal charges on a dead man who is unable to defend himself; Mr Suzyo Nyika, largely based on his previous association with former President Edgar Lungu;

3. Laying of charges and transportation of opposition leader Rapheal Nakachinda to Solwezi and Chilufya Tayali to Lukulu, both away from the jurisdiction of the commission of the alleged crimes of defamation of President Hakainde Hichilema, and purely for purposes of exacting extrajudicial punishment by inconveniencing them to the greatest extent possible;

4. Arrest of Tasila Lungu and husband and charging with alleged offense of obstructing a DEC officer, merely for exercising their constitutional right to remain silent during a DEC interrogation;

5. Seizure of personal properties for various opposition individuals without due process of the law and in violation of the Constitutionally guaranteed property rights;

6. Arrest and prolonged incarceration of political detainees before charge, including Mumbi Phiri, Sheeby Chilekwa, Rapheal Nakachinda and Chilufya Tayali;

7. Prolonged detention and willful failure to take political detainees to Court including Mumbi Phiri and Sheeby Chilekwa, for the sole purpose of exacting extrajudicial punishment on perceived political opponents;

8. Selective justice by pursuing opposition leader Chishimba Kambwili for alleged tribal speech while ignoring clearly tribal statements issued by ruling UPND Kafue District Council Chairperson, Buumba Malambo;

9. Violation of freedom of expression by gagging private media through arrest of journalists such as KBN television Station Manager, Ms. Petty Chanda, merely for doing her job of airing a leaked audio between Home Affairs Permanent Secretary; Josephs Akafumba and Special Assistant to the President for Politics; Levy Ngoma who implicated President Hakainde Hichilema in undermining Zambia’s democracy;

10. The cold blooded extrajudicial killing by Police of two former ruling party youths; Charles Ching’ombe and Jay Jay at Mandevu Market on 8th January 2022.
