TRIBUNAL GRANTS APPLICATION TO WITHDRAW LUSAKA MAYORAL ELECTION PETITION
The Local Government Elections tribunal has granted the application to withdraw the petition brought by losing Lusaka mayoral candidate Gabriel Kibombwe.
This follows the filing of a notice to withdraw the matter by Mr. Kibombwe, mayor-elect Chitambala Mwelwa and the Electoral Commission of Zambia-ECZ-, together with a joint consent signed by the parties and their respective lawyers.
The latest development means Mr. Chitambala Mwewa is the duly elected Lusaka mayor.
