TRIDENT PREP HEADTEACHER FOUND DEAD AT KALUMBILA GOLF ESTATES
A 59 year old South African national who worked as a headteacher at Trident Prep Primary School in Kalumbila District has been found dead at his residence in Kalumbila Golf Estates.
The deceased, identified as Derek Suttie, was discovered by his neighbour and workmate at around 07:00 hours on Monday, October 26, 2026.
North Western Province Police Commanding Officer Brighton Siwale says the neighbour reported the incident to Kalumbila Police Station at 08:30 hours on the same day.
Mr Siwale says the deceased was last seen alive on Saturday, October 24th, 2026, at around 15:00 hours, a fact also confirmed by his garden worker who had interacted with him at his residence.
He says police officers who visited the scene found the body lying naked on a bed, with no signs of forced entry into the house.
Mr Siwale says a physical inspection of the scene revealed body fluids on the deceased’s body and bathroom floor, while the condition of the body suggested that he could have been dead for more than 24 hours.
He says police have so far found no suspicious evidence indicating homicide and are treating the matter as a case of sudden and unnatural death as investigations continue.
Mr Siwale adds that officers also found a dog locked inside the house, apparently distressed due to a lack of food and water.
He says the body has been taken to Wumi Mini Hospital mortuary, where it is awaiting a postmortem examination, as the deceased’s relatives are expected to travel from South Africa.
