“Breaking news. And one of the many reasons we did it here, we have a little breaking news. You have a little ship, see that little ship out there? It’s got one million barrels of oil on it from Venezuela,” Trump said. He framed the arrival as the direct result of decisive action: “And we’re celebrating the greatest oil victory in history. To the victor belong the spoils, right? But thanks to our big victory in our recent war with Venezuela, the oil and—think of this, look at that ship, is that beautiful, finally.”
Multiple tankers have already docked for refining. The oil sitting on ships outside is being provided to the United States at zero cost to the American taxpayer. “We’ve had many come in already, we’ve had many come in for refinement, they refine the oil, but the oil on the ships outside is being provided to the United States at zero cost to the American taxpayer. It’s not bad,” Trump noted.
The broader August deal opened access to tens of billions of barrels in Venezuelan reserves under the post-Maduro interim government. That volume strengthens domestic supply, supports American refineries, and puts downward pressure on gas prices without new taxpayer subsidies or green mandates
Democrats are already lining up to attack the arrangement. Trump called it out directly: “The Democrats will attack us, what kind of a deal is that? What kind of a deal is that?”
