Trump Downplays U.S.–Iran Conflict, Says It Cannot Be Considered a War
U.S. President Donald Trump has downplayed the ongoing confrontation between the United States and Iran, arguing that it should not be classified as a war because no Americans have been killed or injured over the past several months.
“This is not a war, and it cannot be a war when nobody has been injured or killed for five months,” Trump said shortly before.
He contrasted the situation with the Russia–Ukraine war, claiming that approximately 25,000 people are killed there every month
“We have had no deaths and suffered no losses for seven months, so I don’t think this is a war,” Trump added.
