TRUMP: “IT IS NO LONGER NECESSARY” TO BOMB IRAN
U.S. President Donald Trump has said Washington no longer needs to launch further major strikes against Iran, arguing that the Islamic Republic is already under severe economic pressure.
According to Axios, Trump said the United States is taking a more cautious approach while continuing to monitor Tehran’s actions.
“We are playing it low. We are just watching,” Trump said.
Trump pointed to Iran’s economic difficulties, including high inflation and a shortage of liquidity, as evidence that continued economic pressure could be more effective than additional military action.
He also claimed that Tehran is facing such severe financial problems that it “doesn’t even have money to pay its troops.”
The reported shift would mark a significant change in Washington’s approach after months of heightened military tensions. Rather than immediately pursuing additional strikes, the Trump administration would rely more heavily on sanctions, financial pressure and economic isolation to weaken Tehran.
The strategy also carries broader political implications, as Washington seeks to avoid another major military escalation in the Middle East while maintaining pressure on Iran.
For Tehran, however, the continued economic campaign means that even without new U.S. airstrikes, the confrontation with Washington remains intense.
Trump’s message is clear: Washington may not need more missiles if economic pressure can achieve what military strikes cannot.
