Trump Says He Will Not Use Nuclear Weapons Against Iran or Send US Ground Troops
US President Donald Trump has ruled out using nuclear weapons against Iran and said he is not considering deploying American ground troops to the country.
“I will not use nuclear weapons. We don’t need them,” Trump said in an interview with Newsmax.
Trump also addressed the “Mother of All Bombs,” referring to the GBU-43/B Massive Ordnance Air Blast (MOAB), one of the most powerful conventional bombs in the US arsenal.
He emphasized that despite its enormous destructive power, the weapon is not nuclear.
Trump’s comments come amid heightened tensions between Washington and Tehran and growing speculation over the potential scope of any future US military action against Iran.
His remarks appear aimed at drawing a clear distinction between the use of conventional military force and the deployment of nuclear weapons, while also signaling that a US ground invasion is not currently under consideration.
