Trump Says U.S.-Iran Talks Could Take Place This Week
U.S. President Donald Trump told Axios that he expects talks between the United States and Iran to take place this week, despite rejecting a proposal put forward by Tehran.
Trump said Iran wants to reach a deal with Washington, but argued that the agreement Tehran is seeking is not the one he wants.
«“The Iranians want to make a deal, but the deal they want is not the deal I want,” Trump said.»
When asked whether he could resume military strikes against Iran, Trump responded:
«“I always think about it.”»
Trump’s comments come as diplomatic efforts continue alongside ongoing tensions between Washington and Tehran. The possibility of renewed negotiations remains uncertain, while Trump has continued to signal that military action remains an option.
