Trump says U.S. to license Patriot production for Ukraine
Speaking after meeting with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy during the NATO Summit in Türkiye, U.S. President Donald Trump announced that the United States will grant Ukraine a license to manufacture Patriot air defense systems domestically.
According to Trump, the move is intended to help Ukraine address long-term shortages of Patriot interceptors by allowing local production, reducing dependence on overseas deliveries and strengthening the country’s air defense capabilities.
If implemented, the agreement would mark a significant step in expanding Ukraine’s domestic defense industry and sustaining its air defense network against continued missile and drone attacks.
