Trump Signals Possible Strike on Iran’s Deeply Buried Pickaxe Mountain Nuclear Site

US President Donald Trump has warned that the United States may need to strike Iran’s Pickaxe Mountain facility, a heavily fortified underground site near the Natanz nuclear complex in central Iran.

In an interview with Newsmax on October 15, Trump said Washington was considering targeting the site to prevent Tehran from developing nuclear weapons, warning that the United States could launch an attack against the facility.

Pickaxe Mountain, also known as Kuh-e Kolang Gaz La, is believed to contain a network of tunnels buried deep beneath the mountain. The facility has remained a focus of concern because its depth and reinforced entrances could make it difficult to destroy with conventional weapons.

However, the exact status of the underground facility remains unclear. Independent satellite analysis has documented continued construction, but has not confirmed that uranium enrichment is taking place inside.

Trump has not publicly confirmed authorizing a new strike on the site, leaving uncertainty over whether the threat will lead to further military action against Iran.
