Trump to NFL: Postpone Paris Game as France Descends Into Chaos
President Trump bluntly warned that the NFL should delay its upcoming game in Paris amid the violent unrest tearing through France.
“Well, you worry about it. I think maybe looking like tomorrow is going to be a bad day in France, so you worry about it,” Trump said
He then laid out what he would have done differently.
“I would have said the NFL could have probably postponed that match. France is really in trouble. That’s what happens when you go left. That’s what happens when you allow unlimited numbers of people into your country from very unfriendly countries. That’s what you’re going to have.”
The comments came as the league prepares to host its first regular-season game in France this Sunday between the Pittsburgh Steelers and New Orleans Saints at Stade de France. French authorities have been dealing with weeks of protests over education funding and the cost of living that exploded into widespread rioting, looting, and attacks on property, with thousands arrested and police injured.
Trump has repeatedly pointed to the scenes of burning cars and ransacked streets as the predictable result of years of left-wing governance and open-border policies. While the NFL says the game will go ahead with enhanced security, Trump made clear that the deeper problems in France are not going away anytime soon.-DTP
