BREAKING: Trump’s Supreme Court judges APPROVE his Texas gerrymanders that gives Republicans 5 more red seats in a stunning blow to our democracy!
The new maps drawn up by Greg Abbott and the Texas GOP that would net Republicans another five Congressional seats had been blocked by a judge panel on the grounds that the map violates the Constitution by discriminating against voters based on race.
Of course, Trump’s Supreme Court judges don’t care about that, having already dealt a major blow to the Voting Rights Act and have made it clear that they are perfectly happy to participate in the dismantlement of our democracy.
Luckily, Democrats are fighting back; the +5 Republican seats have already been canceled out by California’s +5 Democratic seats from the maps approved by voters when they passed Prop 50. But it signals that other Republican states will be able to succeed with redrawing THEIR maps, which makes it even more vital that blue governors redraw their maps in order to counteract the losses.
