Turkey Rejects Israeli “Provocation” After Syria Airstrike
Turkey says it will “not fall into the trap” allegedly set by Israel following an Israeli strike on a Syrian airbase, while denying reports that a Turkish military delegation recently visited the site.
Burhanettin Duran, Türkiye’s Presidential Communications Director, said Ankara was experienced enough to recognize attempts to undermine regional stability.
“We are sufficiently experienced not to fall into the trap of figures like Netanyahu, who seek to undermine peace and stability in our region,” Duran said.
The Turkish government also denied reports that a Turkish military delegation had recently visited the Syrian airbase targeted in the Israeli strike.
The statement comes amid growing tensions between Ankara and Tel Aviv over their competing security interests in Syria, raising concerns that the country could become a new flashpoint between the two regional powers.
