Turkey Warns Israel Over Gaza Peace Deal, Threatens Joint Action
Turkey has issued a strong warning to Israel, accusing it of taking steps that could undermine the Gaza peace agreement and calling for the next phase of the peace plan to be implemented without further delays.
Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan said that if the situation continues to deteriorate, Turkey, Qatar and Egypt could take coordinated and tougher measures in response.
Fidan also called on the United States to exert meaningful pressure on Israel to ensure that the next stage of the Gaza peace framework is implemented. He stressed that existing agreements must be respected if the conflict is to come to an end and a lasting ceasefire is to be maintained
The Turkish foreign minister’s remarks underscore Ankara’s increasingly assertive role in efforts surrounding the Gaza conflict, while highlighting its coordination with Qatar and Egypt, which have played key roles in mediation efforts.
Turkey’s warning also places additional pressure on Washington, which remains one of Israel’s most influential international partners. Ankara is effectively calling on the United States to use that influence to prevent further actions that could jeopardize the peace process.
The message from Turkey, Qatar and Egypt is becoming increasingly clear: the Gaza agreements must be implemented, the next phase of the peace process must move forward, and actions threatening the ceasefire could trigger a coordinated response.
The latest warning comes as international attention remains focused on whether the Gaza peace framework can survive political and military tensions and ultimately produce a durable end to the conflict.
