TURKEY WARNS NATO: ANKARA COULD LEAVE ALLIANCE IF IT IS NOT DEFENDED
Turkey has reportedly warned that it could withdraw from NATO without delay if the alliance fails to defend Turkish interests and security.
The reported warning comes amid growing tensions between Ankara and Israel, as well as concerns over NATO’s response to developments affecting Turkish assets and interests in the region.
Such a move would represent a major geopolitical shock, given Turkey’s strategic position as a key NATO member controlling access between the Black Sea and the Mediterranean.
If confirmed, Ankara’s threat would put unprecedented pressure on NATO and raise serious questions about the future of the alliance’s southeastern flank.
