Turkish Foreign Minister: Any Violation of Al-Aqsa Mosque Is an Attack on the Values of Our Nation
Turkey’s Foreign Minister has reaffirmed Ankara’s strong position on the status of Jerusalem’s Al-Aqsa Mosque, declaring that the holy site is an exclusive place of worship for Muslims and warning that any violation of its sanctity would be viewed as an attack on the values cherished by the Turkish nation.
Speaking on the issue, the minister stated:
“Al-Aqsa Mosque is a place of worship that belongs exclusively to Muslims. Any violation of this blessed mosque is regarded by Turkey as an attack on the values of our nation.”
The remarks come amid renewed tensions surrounding the Al-Aqsa Mosque compound in East Jerusalem, one of Islam’s holiest sites. Turkish officials have repeatedly called for preserving the site’s historical and religious status quo while condemning actions they believe could inflame regional tensions.
