THIS IS HUGE: Two Republican Senators Just Turned on Trump for Doing Putin a Favor
Trump’s own party isn’t letting this one slide.
Sens. John Cornyn of Texas and Thom Tillis of North Carolina both tore into Trump on Saturday after he froze a sweeping package of Russia sanctions he signed into law just last month, according to Mediaite.
Tillis didn’t hold back. He called the move beyond irresponsible and asked what part of enforcing a law the Senate passed 86 to 11 the president and his advisers don’t understand.
He said it was unconscionable for the administration to cave to a Russian dictator who invaded Ukraine and kills innocent civilians every single day. And he said if Trump really wants lower energy prices, he should solve the Iran problem instead of “doing a solid for Vladimir Putin.”

That’s a Republican senator saying it.
The sanctions were built to go after Russian officials, wealthy elites and banks, and to hit countries that keep buying Russian energy. Trump shielded Putin from all of it, just weeks after striking a deal to buy Russian diesel.
Now Republicans in his own party are saying out loud what everyone can see.
