U.S. B-1 STRATEGIC BOMBERS DEPLOY FROM UK AS IRAN WARNS BRITISH BASES COULD BECOME TARGETS
U.S. Air Force B-1 Lancer strategic bombers have reportedly launched from military bases in the United Kingdom for the first time to participate in ongoing military operations against Iran, marking a significant expansion of the operational role of U.S.-based assets in Europe.
The deployment underscores Washington’s continued military campaign, with U.S. forces carrying out a 12th consecutive night of airstrikes targeting Iranian military infrastructure and other strategic sites amid escalating regional tensions.
In response, Iran warned that British military bases hosting the American bombers are now considered legitimate military targets, accusing the United Kingdom of directly supporting U.S. military operations.
British military officials, however, rejected the threats, stating that the United Kingdom remains fully prepared to defend its territory, military personnel, and overseas bases against any attack. London has reiterated its commitment to protecting its forces while closely coordinating with its allies.
Meanwhile, U.S. President Donald Trump issued a fresh warning to Tehran, saying the United States could expand its target list to include civilian infrastructure if Iran continues issuing threats against international commercial shipping and maritime traffic.
The latest developments highlight the growing risk of a wider regional confrontation, as both sides exchange increasingly severe warnings while military operations continue. No official confirmation has yet been released regarding any direct Iranian response to the deployment of the B-1 bombers from the United Kingdom.
