U.S. Intelligence Reportedly Identified Missile Threat Against Trump
U.S. intelligence had identified a specific missile threat targeting President Donald Trump’s aircraft, according to a report by The New York Times, citing U.S. officials.
The report also says an armed individual carrying a portable missile system was spotted near the NATO summit in Ankara.
According to the officials cited, Iranian authorities allegedly knew the location of Trump’s accommodation in Turkey, reportedly down to the exact floor of the building.
The reported security concerns help explain why the Secret Service took extraordinary measures to conceal Trump’s movements, including temporarily moving him aboard another aircraft.
The allegations have not been independently confirmed by all sources, and the identity and intentions of the armed individual remain unclear.
