A U.S. Senator has sparked debate over how high taxes, multiple levies and complex tax systems can discourage investors, place a burden on businesses and slow economic development across the continent.
He stated that Africa is rich in natural resources, yet many of its economies continue to struggle with industrialisation, investment and economic growth.
The big question is, Are African tax policies encouraging businesses to grow, or driving investment opportunities away?
Africa needs tax systems that attract investment, support local industries, create jobs and accelerate economic transformation.
