U.S. Strikes Iranian Launchers on Larak Island Over Strait of Hormuz Mine Threat

U.S. forces struck two Iranian launchers on Larak Island in the Strait of Hormuz on August 30, marking the first publicly acknowledged American attack on Iranian territory since late July.

U.S. Central Command said the strike was carried out after Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) forces were observed preparing to launch rockets carrying sea mines into the Strait of Hormuz.
