U.S. Warns Civilians, Airlines and Commercial Shipping of Possible Iranian Retaliatory Attacks

The United States has issued a broader security warning to American civilians, businesses and commercial airlines worldwide over the potential for retaliatory attacks linked to Iran and its regional partners.

The warning includes concerns over possible activity by Iran-aligned groups such as the Houthis in Yemen and armed groups operating in Iraq, amid indications that the geographic scope of potential attacks could expand beyond the areas directly involved in the current conflict.

U.S. authorities are also warning maritime operators and commercial shipping companies to remain vigilant, particularly in waters considered vulnerable to military escalation or attacks on commercial vessels.

The latest warning comes amid heightened tensions across the Middle East, with concerns that Iranian retaliation could extend to locations outside the traditional conflict zone, including maritime areas and potential targets in Egypt.

The U.S. has not confirmed that an attack on Egypt or any specific civilian or commercial target is imminent. The warning reflects precautionary measures amid an increasingly volatile regional security environment.
