UKRAINE: 8 KILLED IN LATEST RUSSIAN STRIKES AS ZELENSKY ACCUSES MOSCOW OF “TERRORIZING” CIVILIANS
At least eight people have been killed in a new wave of Russian strikes across Ukraine, according to Ukrainian authorities. President Volodymyr Zelensky accused Moscow of targeting civilians, with residential buildings, schools and a market reportedly hit.
In Kharkiv, at least 15 people, including children, were injured after a Russian guided aerial bomb struck a residential building, Mayor Ihor Terekhov said on Monday.
Zelensky condemned the attacks, saying they were aimed at breaking the Ukrainian population. He also questioned Moscow’s claims about possible de-escalation, arguing that the continued bombardment contradicts commitments reportedly discussed with U.S. negotiators.
Meanwhile, Germany called on Russian President Vladimir Putin to end what it described as a “dangerous escalation” involving NATO countries and to pursue a peaceful solution.
A meeting between the German and Russian foreign ministers on the sidelines of the UN General Assembly reportedly produced no significant breakthrough, according to Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov.
