UKRAINE AND NORWAY EXPAND COOPERATION ON F-16s, DRONE DEFENCE AND PROTECTED INFRASTRUCTURE

Ukrainian Defence Minister Khmara met Norwegian Finance Minister Jens Stoltenberg to discuss strengthening Ukraine’s combat capabilities and protecting the infrastructure its forces depend on.

Norwegian support is helping expand the capabilities of Ukraine’s F-16 fleet and its defences against Russian drones, including interceptor drones and defensive turrets. Other priorities include underground defensive and logistics facilities, alongside protected command posts.

The two countries also agreed to expand technology exchanges and establish new joint ventures, building cooperation that can support Ukraine’s defence over the longer term.

Norway continues to demonstrate what friendship means through practical assistance. As a country sharing a border with Russia, it understands the importance of preparedness and the danger of allowing military aggression to succeed.

For Ukraine, this support means stronger protection in the air and greater resilience on the ground. For Norway and its European partners, helping Ukraine defend itself is also an investment in their own security. The consequences of a Russian victory would reach far beyond Ukraine’s borders.
