Ukraine Arrests 17-Year-Old Suspected of Helping Russian Intelligence Poison Soldiers

Ukrainian police have arrested a 17-year-old girl suspected of helping Russian intelligence operatives poison Ukrainian soldiers by mailing capsules containing potentially lethal doses of methadone.

Investigators allege that organizers contacted servicemen through Telegram and offered them free drugs. The packages were then sent through the postal system using false sender details, with recipients allegedly instructed to consume the contents on camera without knowing what the capsules contained.

Two Ukrainian soldiers died from poisoning in Zhytomyr Oblast, according to police. Investigators identified other recipients in several regions, preventing what authorities described as four additional planned killings.

Police suspect the teenager was acting on instructions from a Russian handler and had been promised at least 5,000 hryvnias for her role. She faces charges related to aiding premeditated murder and distributing narcotic substances, carrying a potential prison sentence of up to 15 years if convicted.

The investigation is ongoing, and the allegations against the suspect have not yet been proven in court.
