UKRAINE: RUSSIAN STRIKES HIT MULTIPLE REGIONS AS COUNTRY’S LARGEST STEEL PLANT HALTS PRODUCTION

Ukraine is facing another wave of Russian attacks, with multiple regions, including Kyiv, coming under fire. Repeated strikes on industrial infrastructure have also forced one of the country’s key economic pillars to suspend operations.

In Kryvyi Rih, ArcelorMittal Kryvyi Rih, Ukraine’s largest steelmaking complex, has halted production following damage caused by Russian missile strikes. The company reportedly said the damage makes it impossible to continue operations safely and sustainably.

The facility has reportedly been targeted four times in five weeks. Five employees have been killed and 17 others injured, according to the information provided. The latest reported strike on the plant occurred on September 21.

Russian attacks in Kyiv have also caused casualties and property damage, while other parts of Ukraine have experienced disruptions affecting critical infrastructure and industrial facilities.

The shutdown represents another major setback for Ukraine’s industrial sector as Russian strikes increasingly target energy infrastructure and production capacity.
