UKRAINE STRIKES SALAVAT AGAIN — MAJOR RUSSIAN OIL COMPLEX HIT 1,300 KM FROM THE BORDER
Ukraine has struck the Gazprom Neftekhim Salavat complex in Bashkortostan again, returning to one of Russia’s largest oil-refining and petrochemical facilities barely a month after the previous attack.
Ukraine’s General Staff confirmed the strike, with a fire reported on the territory of the complex. The facility sits roughly 1,300 kilometers from Ukraine and can process up to 10 million tons of crude oil annually.
Salavat produces gasoline, diesel, fuel oil, bitumen, polyethylene and other petroleum and petrochemical products, making it an important part of Russia’s broader industrial and fuel network supporting the war.
The same complex was struck on July 14, after which operations were suspended due to damage.
