UKRAINE’S NEW “PELICAN” WEAPON USED IN MOSCOW ATTACK
President Volodymyr Zelenskyy confirmed that Ukraine deployed a domestically produced weapon known as the Pelican during the massive overnight attack on Moscow and the surrounding region.
The Pelican’s precise design and capabilities remain classified. Early reports identified it as the FP-7 ballistic missile, but Ukrainian military sources later described it as a long-range winged drone. Zelenskyy confirmed its participation in the operation without identifying its exact type or specifications.
The Pelican was deployed alongside Ukrainian long-range drones and Flamingo cruise missiles during the layered attack, which struck Moscow’s oil and logistics infrastructure and overwhelmed airspace around the Russian capital.
Whatever the Pelican ultimately proves to be, its appearance over Moscow demonstrates that Ukraine’s domestically produced long-range arsenal continues to expand—and Russia is learning about these new weapons only when they arrive.
