Ukrainian F-16 Shoots Down Russian Geran Attack Drone Mid-Air
A Ukrainian F-16 fighter jet has intercepted and destroyed a Russian Geran attack drone in mid-air, according to footage shared online.
The interception highlights the role of Western-supplied fighter aircraft in Ukraine’s ongoing efforts to counter Russian drone attacks targeting military positions and critical infrastructure.
The Geran series is used by Russia for long-range attack missions and is associated with the Iranian-designed Shahed drone family.
However, the original recording’s date and location have not been independently confirmed, and it remains unclear whether the footage shows a newly reported interception or an earlier engagement recirculated online.
