UPND ALLIANCE MEMBER SAYS NRPUP GAVE RULING PARTY A GOOD RUN IN GENERAL ELECTION

UPND Alliance Member Highvie Hamududu says the National Reconciliation Party for Unity and Prosperity-NRPUP- gave the UPND a good run in the just ended general election.
Speaking when he featured on Tuesday’s edition of Let the People Talk Programme on Phoenix FM, Mr. Hamududu said the party’s performance was commendable, considering that it was formed only a month before the election campaign period.
He said the fact that NRPUP, despite being a newly formed party, managed to mount a strong challenge against the ruling party demonstrates that its members worked hard.
Mr. Hamududu has since urged members of the ruling party to embrace members of the losing opposition and work together to move the country forward.
He has also called on political party supporters to stop fighting on behalf of their leaders, noting that political leaders interact and eat together despite belonging to different parties.
On the same programme, Governance Expert Isaac Mwanza urged all the aggrieved losing candidates in the election not to incite their members to go to the streets but should seek redress through the courts of law.
