NASON MUSONDA, A NEW HOPE FOR KAWAMBWA PARLIAMENTARY SEAT

LUSAKA – The newly adopted Kawambwa Central candidate, Mr. Nason Musonda, has expressed immense gratitude and optimism after being selected as the United Party for National Development (UPND) candidate for the Kawambwa parliamentary by-election scheduled for December 23, 2024.
The aspiring Member of Parliament made his remarks shortly after being unveiled as the UPND candidate at the party’s National Secretariat.
From the outset, Mr. Musonda pledged to usher in transformative representation for the constituency, firmly emphasizing his commitment to addressing long-standing challenges while leveraging the government’s decentralization initiatives.
Mr. Musonda, whose affiliation with the UPND dates back to his university days as President of the Copperbelt University Students Union, reflected on his inspiring journey within the party. He fondly credited the late President Anderson Kambela Mazoka for shaping his dedication to the UPND’s vision.
Over the years, Mr. Musonda has actively participated in the party’s evolution, aligning himself closely with its mission of inclusivity and sustainable development. Notably, his adoption comes at a crucial juncture for Kawambwa, which has endured years of underrepresentation.
In outlining his priorities, Mr. Musonda stressed the importance of equitable resource allocation under the Constituency Development Fund (CDF).
Among his key focus areas are the electrification of rural areas, improved access to clean water, and the timely distribution of fertilizer to support agricultural productivity.
He confidently declared, “I am born and bred in Kawambwa, so I fully understand their problems.”
Additionally, Mr. Musonda highlighted the urgent need for infrastructure development, particularly the construction and maintenance of roads to ensure ease of movement during the rainy season.
As Mr. Musonda embarks on this journey, he called for unity and collaboration among party structures and community members to achieve shared development goals.
With his vision and unwavering dedication, he hopes to bring Kawambwa constituency under the UPND banner, ensuring that its residents finally receive the effective representation they have long deserved.
Furthermore, Mr. Musonda extended his heartfelt appreciation to Mr. Andrew Wiza Sindanza for his efforts in keeping the UPND active in Kawambwa. He also expressed profound gratitude to the UPND party hierarchy for placing their trust in him.
Finally, he reserved special thanks for the President, Mr. Hakainde Hichilema, and confidently assured the entire party of victory.
