UPND IS MORE CORRUPT THAN PF, CHARGES MONGU’S IMWIKO COUNCILLOR …as he resigns from the party

UPND is more corrupt than PF, party Imwiko ward councillor who is also Mongu district chairperson Matakala Nyambe has charged.
Matakala who seems to have fallen out of favour with UPND has written a scathing letter of resignation from the party – as intraparty wrangles and divisions in Nalikwanda constituency deepen.
Matakala in letter dated October 4, 2020 and seen by Daily Revelation, described UPND leader Hakainde Hichilema as having lost power and grip of the party’s leadership to an extent that people like Mazabuka law maker Gary Nkombo and others have subverted authority from him.
“If Gary Nkombo can uphold a committee that never even paid nomination fees, then it clearly looks like it’s a way of getting rid of me. I want to quickly mention my disappointment (to) you Sir, as it clearly shows that you also don’t have power in this party,” the letter read in part. “Mr President, the national chairperson Madam Mutale Nalumango had ruled that Nalikwanda goes for fresh elections but Hon. Gary (Nkombo) changed it. Then the same people rushed to you Sir, being the final man in the party and you ruled that both committees share the positions in Nalikwanda Constituency Committee, but as usual the other committee refused and Hon Gary (Nkombo) took it the way that suits him and Mwilola (Imakando, Mongu central member of parliament).
Matakala then addressed a potential question that could probably arise as a result of his resignation from UPND.
“I write to you Sir, to inform you that I relinquish my position in the party as district chairman and councillor for Imwiko ward. My resignation has not come because I have been bought by PF, but I just realise that the UPND leadership is not straight and these intraparty elections have been targeted at finishing my political career,” he wrote.
He accused Nkombo and Imakando of subverting Hichilema’s authority.
“Following the Nalikwanda happenings, its clear that Gary Nkombo and Mwilola are the final people in decision making. I say so, because the Nalikwanda committee led by Ziezo has utilised all the justice system of the party, but clearly, it looks like UPND is even more corrupt than PF itself,” he charged.
He defended his committee, claiming they had scarified a lot for the party even when Nalikwanda was in a political crisis.
“Sir, he addressed Hichilema, I have been threatened, called names, linked me to PF, but I stood firm, trusting that I have a president who would always defend me in times of crisis, but I was wrong. (I think) there is more to life than forcing myself to an institution that does not like me,” stated Matakala.
And when contacted over his resignation, Matakala declined to comment.
“I will comment when time comes. For now, I have no comment, I can’t comment,” said Matakala and immediately cut the phone line.
