UPND MEMBER CALLS FOR FORGIVENESS OVER COMMENTS MADE BEFORE OFFICIAL POLICE CONFIRMATION ON HON. KAFWAYA’S DEATH
A UPND member, George N. Mtonga, has called on members of the National Restoration for Peace and Prosperity Party (NRPUP) and others to forgive people who commented or made posts about the death of former Lunte Member of Parliament, Hon. Mutotwe Kafwaya, before an official confirmation was issued by the Zambia Police Service.
In a Facebook post, Mtonga appealed to those who may have made comments based on unverified information to be allowed to apologise and seek forgiveness.
He said he believes some people would not have treated the matter lightly had they known the full truth surrounding the incident.
“I will ask those who didn’t know what had happened to be able to say sorry and ask for forgiveness,” he said.
Mtonga further urged politicians and their supporters to avoid propaganda and allow room for the truth, saying the matter should not be used for political gain.
The call comes as the nation continues to mourn the death of Hon. Kafwaya, with many Zambians expressing sadness and calling for the truth and justice to prevail.
