USS Rafael Peralta Departs Arabian Sea After Six-Month Deployment
The U.S. Navy guided-missile destroyer USS Rafael Peralta (DDG-115), an Arleigh Burke-class warship, has departed the Arabian Sea after spending more than six months deployed across the Middle East.
The destroyer had been operating in the region as part of U.S. naval forces supporting maritime security and regional military operations.
The vessel is equipped with the Aegis combat system and a range of guided missiles, providing air-defense, missile-defense and surface-strike capabilities.
Its departure comes amid continued tensions across the Middle East and heightened security activity around major maritime routes, including the Arabian Sea, Gulf of Oman and Strait of Hormuz.
The move represents a significant rotation of U.S. naval forces in the region as Washington continues to maintain a substantial military presence across the Middle East.
