I CAN’T AGREE TO ADDRESS MUNDUBILE AS PRESIDENT,’ SAYS KAMBWILI.
Former Information and Broadcasting Minister and former Roan Member of Parliament Chishimba Kambwili has said it would be a joke for him to address Brian Mundubile as “President” or “His Excellency.”
Kambwili also claimed that he helped Mundubile become financially successful during the Patriotic Front (PF) administration and that Mundubile should instead be grateful and show him allegiance.
Speaking in an audio recording that has surfaced online, Kambwili is heard speaking to a man he refers to as “Bashi Chilekwa.”
In the recording, Kambwili claims Mundubile has no special skills to offer the country, describing him as incompetent and alleging that he was a struggling man before he assisted him
He further says he will never address Mundubile as “His Excellency” or “President of Zambia.”
“Tetifwe muntu ese ati ndefwaya kuba President, ma Rubbish yashani ayo” said Kambwili in reference to Mundubile.
“Bashi Chilekwa, ine Kambwili, can I address Brian Mundubile as His Excellency or President? Can I?”
“He was just a broke guy whom I helped through different contracts, and today he says he wants to be President? What special skills does he have?” he asks in the recording.
Not long ago, Kambwili also accused Mundubile of stealing US$1.5 million allegedly meant for a road construction project, an allegation that would require evidence and any response from Mundubile.
Despite those past remarks, Kambwili has since joined the same Brian Mundubile, whom he previously said he could never address as “President” or “His Excellency.”
