STOLEN MAYORAL ELECTION COSTING US, SAYS STREET VENDOR.

A street vendor has accused Lusaka Mayor Mwewa Chitambala of stealing the mayoral election, saying he should not make ordinary people suffer.

According to a video circulating on social media, the Lusaka woman is heard criticising Mayor Chitambala over the ongoing efforts to remove street vendors from the streets.

She says the Mayor has no heart, arguing that even if he stole the election, he should have been more considerate of street vendors.

According to the woman, the Mayor’s actions are heartless and show a lack of empathy for struggling families.

She says the Mayor and his family will continue to eat and receive their salaries while street vendors are being chased away from the streets where they earn a living.

The woman has also accused the UPND Government of failing to put money into circulation since assuming office in 2021.

  1. Which woman iwe? And which elections did Chitambala steal? Chitambala never stole any election, he just won beating other contestants. The man is clean, he is a performer and has transformed the city within few weeks of being in office. That’s what we want and that the job of the Mayor, to man the City and not to man vendors. Markets are the right places for vendors and not streets. The rain season has come and Cholera is already causing havoc, if the same woman becomes a Cholera victim, where is she going to sell her tomatoes? And how many people are going to die from Cholera? Please let’s try think before we complain. We want a clean city where hygiene will reign and not a dirty city where diseases like Cholera thrive.
