VIOLENCE ROCKS TONSE PAMODZI ALLIANCE MEETING IN NDOLA DISTRICT

What was meant to be a peace and reconciliation meeting turned chaotic as Tonse Pamodzi Alliance  members came to blows in Ndola; between Resolute Party and NRPUP late last week.

NRPUP’s Chilinda escaped by a whisker from yet another mob attack by Resolute Party members who demand that he withdraws is candidature for Ndola central. The NRPUP President and Tonse Council of leader also present  came under threat and had to escape from the  same meeting held at the  “PF” secretariat. Noted people also at the meeting was both aspiring Mayors for Ndola on Resolute and NRPUP.

The Resolute group was demanding that NRPUP pull out of the Ndola Central race. 
Chilinda now points fingers at Emmanuel Mulenga aspiring candidate for Ndola on Resolute party, accusing him of masterminding the attack — with Mulenga reportedly present during the violence and insults just watching.

The meeting was convened to address NRPUP’s ban on Resolute Party from campaigning for Mundubile and from playing lampi songs in Ndola District. Following the tensions, meeting was called for the leaders by Makebi Zulu to mediate and resolve the matter.

The Resolute Party maintains, with video evidence and documentation, that the Copperbelt was allocated to them. They complain that they are now fighting a two-front war against both UPND and NRPUP…and have demanded that NRPUP withdraw its candidates ..they feel betrayed.

NRPUP is refusing to withdraw, arguing that they have already invested significant resources, both human and financial. They further accuse Resolute of failing to file candidates in 5 constituencies on the Copperbelt, stating that the situation would be far worse had NRPUP not stepped in.

Both Mundubile and Makebi Zulu appear paralyzed in resolving the crisis. Ironically, in various meetings they have continued to urge their members to press on. Both are eyeing their respective parties for 2031. However, the longer this impasse drags on, the more volatile and dangerous the situation becomes.
