WE ARE VOTING FOR HH OUR FELLOW VILLAGER AND FARMER, VOW MKAIKA RESIDENTS

MKAIKA residents of Eastern Province have vowed to give a hundred percent vote to United Party for National Development (UPND) Alliance presidential candidate Hakainde Hichilema, on account of being a fellow villager and farmer, who understands challenges people in rural Zambia grapple with every single day.

In separate interviews, peasant farmers said that Mr. Hichilema as a villager spent his life in a village set up and experienced difficulties, and is desirous to liberate all Zambians, beyond those on the line of rail.

In comparative terms, the farming community says Hichilema is a better person to improve rural life, than the incumbent, Dr. Edgar Chagwa Lungu.

“President Lungu must go and rest after Thursday 12th August 2021, as he has not delivered change to the Zambian people. All we have received from the Patriotic Front (PF) leadership are fake and unfulfiled promises since 2011, we are still waiting for more money to reach our pockets, more jobs are still on their way to Mkaika from Lusaka, and lower taxes have resulted in increased prices of basic household and commercial use products and services,” vowed Kelvin Banda, a peasant farmer.

Banda wondered the credibility of President Lungu’s claim that the Eastern Province is his political bedroom, amidst a sea of citizens or kinsmen wallowing in abject poverty.

Said Banda: “For development to be appreciated it must translate in people living a better life. We want to tell President Lungu that people of Mkaika want HH and the Alliance partners,” vowed Banda.

Banda, a peasant farmer narrated how each farming season does not produce economic change for him and his family, and after a harvest, households are generally destitute.

“Here in Mkaika farming inputs are not delivered on time and the cost of living is high coupled with bad roads. PF here do not interact with us to listen to our problems as farmers because President Lungu is not a farmer but his goverment attaches great importance to the agriculture sector on paper,” Banda observed.

He said Mkaika District being a farming area requires a visionary leader of Hichilema’s stature to implement bold and consistently predictable agriculture policies in the next 40 days when the general election is held.

“We are farmers here and understand that the UPND alliance is led by President Hichilema, a farmer and villager like us. For change to come out our way, we are voting for him and protect cast votes until the Electoral Commission of Zambia (ECZ) announces HH as a winner,” an excited Banda said.

In another, development, Banda Chifunda regretted that PF had not allowed other political parties, especially the UPND Alliance partners, a latitude to interact with the electorate.

Mr. Chifunda said it is unacceptable that the UPND President Hichilema is passing through hard time to reach cadres and symphathisers countrywide.

“But we are decided to vote for him as peer, being a farmer and villager,” Chifunda vowed.
