WE DISPUTE ALLEGATIONS THAT KUMAWA DEVELOPMENT COALITION IS A TRIBAL GROUPING

Firstly we wish to emphasize our utmost appreciation for the invaluable contribution being made by Members of Parliament and the Provincial Administration towards the development of Eastern Province. Their efforts have not gone unnoticed, and we acknowledge their dedication in addressing the developmental needs of the region.

However, we want from the onset say that the allegations that the Kumawa Development Coalition is a tribal grouping perplex us, as they seem to be limited to only certain individuals and their supporters within the government. It is important to note that Kumawa Development Coalition, as a group, operates on principles that are inclusive and aim to foster unity and development for all citizens of Eastern Province, regardless of their tribe or ethnic background.

Furthermore, we believe it is essential to bring to their attention the evidence-based developmental gaps existing in Eastern Province. These gaps include inadequate road infrastructure, such as the Chipata to Lundazi, Lundazi to Chama, Chipata to Chadiza and Chipata to Vubwi roads among others. The other gaps are in the healthcare sector and facilities such as schools, clinics, and universities in the region. It is these pressing developmental challenges that our group aims to address in collaboration with all stakeholders.

Kumawa Development Coalition firmly advocates for a broad-based, inclusive approach to development, which involves the active participation of all cross-cutting stakeholders. We believe that only through a collective effort can we achieve sustainable and equitable development in Eastern Province.

As a strategic partner towards development, Kumawa Development Coalition brings together individuals, organizations, and communities to synergize efforts and resources, with the ultimate goal of transforming Eastern Province into a thriving and prosperous region for all its residents.

We call upon the Government of the day and all concerned parties to carefully reconsider the allegations made against us. We remain committed to our vision of an inclusive and united Eastern Province and are open to engage in constructive dialogue to address any misconceptions or concerns.
