We shall determine who forms government, says Citizens First

CITIZENS First—CF says the withdrawal of its running mate, Moses Mawere, does not affect party president Harry Kalaba’s candidature in the August 13 General Election.

The party says the Electoral Commission of Zambia—ECZ has made it clear that the law does not provide for the withdrawal of a running mate and that such a development does not invalidate its presidential ticket.

In a statement issued by Citizens First spokesperson Bangwe Navilley Chisenga, the party urged its members and supporters to remain focused on the campaign, noting that only one month remains before the elections

Chisenga said Citizens First remains competitive, credible, and will play a decisive role in determining who forms the next government.

He added that the party is not distracted by individuals who have chosen to join other political parties, describing their decisions as an exercise of their democratic rights.

Chisenga said the party’s focus remains on selling its manifesto to the Zambian people, maintaining that Harry Kalaba remains on the ballot and that Citizens First is ready to lead.
