“WE’LL TAKE YOU BACK TO LIFE UNDER LUNGU IF WE WIN” – MAKEBI ZULU
NRPUP Alliance Vice President Makebi Zulu has declared that Zambians can expect a return to what he described as the better days experienced under the late former President Edgar Chagwa Lungu if the alliance wins the August 13, 2026 General Elections.
Addressing thousands of supporters during the alliance’s mega rally in Chingola, Mr. Zulu said a Toonse Alliance government would revive the economy and restore the standard of living that many citizens associated with the Lungu administration.
“We will take you back to living the way you did under President Edgar Chagwa Lungu,” Mr. Zulu told the cheering crowd, drawing loud applause from supporters.
He argued that during Mr. Lungu’s tenure, money circulated more freely in the economy and businesses were more active, adding that many Zambians still remember that period with appreciation despite the country’s economic challenges at the time.
In an emotional tribute, Mr. Zulu also said the late former President would have been happy to witness a change of government after this year’s elections.
He claimed that Mr. Lungu had always wished to see Zambia under different leadership, arguing that he believed citizens were enduring difficult economic conditions under the current administration.
The remarks are expected to add fresh momentum to the heated campaign trail, where political parties continue to compete over who offers the most convincing solution to Zambia’s economic challenges.
As election campaigns enter their final stretch, the economy, cost of living and job creation remain among the key issues dominating political debate across the country.

Not surprising. The PF crowd is incorrigible and unrepentant. They actually believe that they did a great job. So it ia naive, no, foolish to expect them to change their ways.
If anything, expect a double dose of the violence, corruption, thuggery, vulgar language, theft and hypocrisy we experienced under PF. After all it put plenty of money in circulation.
That is the gospel according to st. Makebi Zulu.
It is sad that political maturity is still lacking in most of our politicians. Honestly speaking the yard stick being used is completely absurd.
In a time where caderism was at its peak with abuse of national funds at a grand scale as can be evidenced by the conviction of most leaders in the last regime. It is regrettable that a candidate wanting second position in the land would even hint of taking us back to what was a shameful handling of power sincerely given by a people who entrusted their lives to people the hoped would put more money in their pockets.
Gentlemen, don’t take us for granted. Your bad governance and leadership costed us greatly. Surely it appears you are not remorseful of your ways and are inclined tp your old ways. I guess the wise words stating that the leopard can not change its spots is true. In your own words, you want us to go back to chaos . Back To see pictures of your thugs burning money on the brazer. Where our public services used to pay homage to thugs. Get on a bus was pathetic. later on going to a market. This was a pathetic era. I don’t want to go back just to appeal tp your memory of bad leadership. Please don’t upset us.
Let’s reflect wisely. If all you want to bring is already happening at a scale far beyond you in many ways, what is your need.
Remember when you had the opportunity to lead you failed. You need a mond change not tp repeat the same mistakes. For now by your own admission you are far from change.
Just to go e you an example previously your priority of CDF was 1.5 million Kwacha under your watch. This is now 40 million Kwacha .Just look at the leap. The knowledge gap is to even manage this money too wide for you to improve above this status. Just be honest. I understand there are teething issues and management problems but the can be overcome. We the citizens with also ensure accountability will be enhanced through direct participation.
I admire your courage to participate in multiparty Democracy and it is good we need this growth. In my view what you need to do is to concentrate on consolidating a more sound approach to practical solutions and wise leadership. Currently you are more of a sub set of universal set where all you are selling already exist . The current guys have proved competency where you lamentable failed. What should convince me now that you are cable. You still have the same team, actually more fragmented because some of your own have left after realizing the lack of skill or competency to lead. Charisma can certainly be there but quality pf leadership is lacking and should be developed.
Lastly Resent and hatred is not enough to win a general election. An angry person can not see past their noise. You truly need to heal first in order to be effective. Take a close honest around your team. Why are most of you angry all the time. This is not healthy nor refreshing. How will you tackle hard pressing economic questions you left for other’s to handle.A bad temper never solved anything.
It is regrettable and very incompetent hear you say that you will take us back to where we used to have money when it was actually only in political affiliates associates who received and shared in unjustly ill gotten money. We the voters gained very little except being insulted by thugs who flashed money we paid at great expense through taxes.
No, please we don’t want to go back at all. It is an era some of us want to use only as an example of Politicians who overstepped their authority and abused the people who entrusted them with power.
There is need for a renewal of mindset to focus on values that build confidence. Don’t underestimate the power of History. It is a powerful teacher to a human mind.
Thank you, Makebi Zulu for removing all doubt. Let’s see, Inter-city Bus Terminus in Lusaka will be back under control of PF thugs.
Normal human beings never return to their vomit. I strongly believe that the large majority of Zambians are normal. We ferociously vomitted PF in 2021. PF/Tonse alliance is vomitus in front of Zambians.
