WE WILL FINISH BUILDING THE NATIONAL HOUSE OF PRAYER – MUNDUBILE

Presidential candidate Brian Mundubile has reaffirmed his commitment to completing the National House of Prayer, saying his administration will also restore the Ministry of Religious Affairs and National Guidance.

President Mundubile and his running mate, President Makebi Zulu, today attended a church service at Tabernacle of David in Lusaka, where they joined congregants in worship and prayer

Speaking briefly during the service, President Mundubile gave an insight into the spiritual life that he and his running mate have maintained throughout the campaign. He disclosed that the two regularly find time on the campaign trail to pray, including praying in tongues.

Earlier, while introducing the two leaders, Bishop Harrison Sakala disclosed that both President Mundubile and President Zulu have roots in the Assemblies of God.

Bishop Sakala said President Mundubile was baptised by Rev. Chelelwa at Northmead Assembly of God in 1991, while President Zulu grew up in an Assemblies of God family, with his father having pastored an Assemblies of God church in Kaunda Square.

President Mundubile reflected on his own Christian journey, recalling that as a young man and student in the early 1990s, he had a deep passion for evangelism.

He also spoke about his recent visit to Chitambo with President Zulu, where the two made what has become known as the Chitambo Declaration, committing themselves to advancing a message of light from Zambia to Africa and beyond.

President Mundubile said the declaration was accompanied by a commitment to Zambia’s Christian heritage and to completing the National House of Prayer, a project initiated under the administration of late President Edgar Chagwa Lungu.

“We made a commitment that we are going to finish building the National House of Prayer,” President Mundubile said.

He further reaffirmed the commitment to reintroduce the Ministry of Religious Affairs and National Guidance.

The church visit comes in the final days before Zambia’s General Election scheduled for Thursday, 13 August 2026, as President Mundubile and President Zulu conclude their campaign for the presidency.
