DEMAND FOR GOVERNMENT ACCOUNTABILITY ON THE DECLARATION OF KEY PUBLIC INSTITUTIONS AS CRIME SCENES
Fellow Citizens,
According to the yellow “CRIME SCENE” tapes surrounding them, the High Court and the Ministry of Home Affairs and Internal Security Headquarters have now been declared crime scenes.
Since 1991, Zambia has enjoyed its democracy. For 35 years we have held our leaders accountable for decisions that affect citizens. Our public institutions belong to the people of Zambia.
We therefore demand that the Government urgently informs the nation:
What has led to our key public institutions being closed and declared crime scenes without any explanation to the people?
The people have a right to know why access has been denied, what is being investigated, and for how long these critical services will be disrupted.
In the meantime, we call upon all Zambians to remain calm and peaceful as we await answers from those in authority.
Zambia deserves transparency, not silence.
Justice must not only be done, it must be seen to be done.

Ba Given Katuta Mwelwa, the reasons for the closure has been given as your name ”Given” states. Let’s preserve human lives. It is clear that HH won. What should preoccupy our minds now is continuity of peace. To achieve justice at the expense of human lives does not only defeat the purpose of the same justice but demonstrates reckless thinking and reasoning.
Madame, we are just coming back from elections where some of you lost. You were one of the losing presidential aspirants and you know how subversive elements are planning and trying to destabilize the country. Security forces do not want to take chances and be caught off guard. Precautionary measures are to be taken where the security of the country is seriously threatened. And you bear it in mind that it’s not always mandatory the government to disclose to the general public whenever such precaution Al measures are taken. Courts can not be closed for good and will not be closed for good, they will be opened at an appropriate time when the government feels the lives of the Workers and those of general public are safe. The same with your question, it may not be the right time for the government to tell us why such an action was taken, but at an appropriate time, we shall be told and it will end there. In Zambia we don’t usually appreciate such actions because we so peaceful as a country. In other countries, security concerns are order of the day and they don’t even inform anyone about it. So just leave the security officers to do their job, I am sure they know what they are doing. The point that you should know is that the government through its own Intelligence knows much more than we know about security issues, we are never at the same level and we shall never be. You can remain ndwii when there is national security threat. If you do that, then you are a dog or worse than a dog who can bark at a robber.
